Obituary of Lucille M Lapinski

Lucille M. Lapinski, 87, of Cortland passed away on April 2, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. She was born on October 14, 1927 in Deposit NY, the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Blincoe Sherwood. Lucille had been a long time resident of the Cortland area. She Graduated from Deposit High School and after graduation moved to the Binghamton area. Shortly after she moved to Cortland, where she retired from NCC Industries. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her husband, Joseph Lapinski, her sons Gene Griffis, Carl Griffis, Wayne Gill, sisters; Fran Whalen, Grace Tkach, Mrs. Lapinski is survived by her son Stephen (Evelyn) Griffis of Endicott, her daughter Lisa Avery of Arkansas 7 grandchildren, many Great grandchildren, daughter-in-laws; Vicky Griffis, Brenda Gill and Nephews. A calling hour will be held on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave. Cortland NY 13045, with a time of remembrance to begin at 11:00. Donations in Lucille’s name can be made to the Kidney Foundation. The family would like to give special thanks to her caretaker, Dale Nemecek.
