Obituary of Boyd T. Letts Jr.

Boyd T “Bee”. Letts Jr. 88, passed away August 19, 2014 following a brief illness. Born August 4, 1926 in Cortland, NY and resided In Homer for over 30 yrs. Boyd was predeceased by his parents Boyd and Althea Letts and wife Frances Ann Letts. He is survived by his brother Richard Letts of Cortland, his children Tom (Connie) Letts of Horseheads, Y and Bruce (Wendy Compagni) Letts of Tully, NY, he is also survived by his grandchildren Joseph (Suzanne) Letts of Hanover, MA. Matthew (Stephanie) Letts of Worchester, MA. Jamie (Deni) Letts of Denver, CO, Nate Letts of Denver, CO, Mariah Letts of Tully, NY and 2 great grandchildren Henry Boyd Letts and Sullivan James Letts of MA. Boyd was a 1944 graduate of Cortland High, he entered the service at 17yrs old and was stationed in Germany during WWII. When he returned from the Army he attended Colgate and then Cortland State. He then worked with his father and his brother at several gas stations they owned in Cortland. Eventually they moved to LF Letts & Sons on Tompkins St. where he retired after 46 yrs. Boyd was a life -long member of the Cortland Elks Cub. Boyd will be missed by family and friends. He especially enjoyed Wednesday afternoon’s with his lifelong buddies. Family and close friends of Boyd’s may call from 10:00 -11:00 am Friday at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave. A memorial service will be celebrated at 11:00 am.
