Obituary of Michelle J. Coville-Cottom

Michelle Jeannée Cottom (Coville), 36, of Locke, NY passed away on May 23rd at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. Michelle was born on May 22, 1978 in Johnson City, NY. Michelle grew up in the Fabius/DeRuyter area and graduated from Homer High School in Homer, NY. She received her Associates degree in Business Administration and Management from Columbia College. She was employed as a team leader for Liberty Travel in Syracuse and traveled to many remote locations- she would eagerly share her experiences with family, friends, and customers alike. In September 2013 she married Ben Cottom in a private ceremony in Costa Rica. Michelle will always be remembered for her welcoming smile, a genuinely caring attitude, and a passionate desire to help others in need. She is survived by her loving husband Ben, father Jeffrey (Cynthia J. Jones) L. Coville of Cortland, mother Katherine (Kevin E. Baker) F. Baker of Baldwinsville, sister Rebecca, brothers Jordan and Jonathan, and step-siblings Mikayla J. Cerio and Jeremy and Joelle Baker, paternal grandmother Rose M. Guidry of Cortland, maternal grandparents John and Mary Fox of DeRuyter, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 31st at Homer Ave United Methodist Church in Cortland, NY at 11:00am-12:45 pm Services to follow.at 1:00pm In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Helping Hounds of Syracuse. She was an amazing, beautiful, and fun person who loved her family and friends with everything she had in her.
