Obituary of Alice Willliams

Alice Williams, 82, formerly of Parker Ave. and the Friendship House, passed away April 6, 2014 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center. She was born June 6, 1931 in Cortland the daughter of the late Harold and Pearl Widger Lane. Alice was raised and educated locally graduating from Cortland High School in 1954. She lived briefly in Syracuse working for General Electric before returning to Cortland where she was employed at Smith Corona until retiring in the mid 1980's. Alice was a member of the Cortland Moose Lodge. She loved to fish, was an avid bingo player, and loved to travel to the casino. She is survived by her sons Raymond Williams, Wayne (Toni) Williams, Bruce Williams, her daughters Pearl Cozort, Renee (Jeff) Babel, her grandchildren Amy Mowry, Nick Babel, Kayla Babel, Bill Cozort, Mackenzie Williams, Michael Williams, Sarah Williams, two great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Horace Williams, her siblings Robert Lane, Mead Lane, and Betty Lane. Calling hours will be Wednesday 5-7 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045. There will be no funeral services.
